Operations Bureau
The Operations Bureau is the largest component of the Gainesville Police Department. It is charged with working with the community to provide police services to the citizens of Gainesville, Florida.
The Operations Bureau operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The primary mission of this Division is the protection of life and property, enforcement of Florida laws and City ordinances, and to protect the rights of all people. The Patrol Division is divided into two Districts; District 1 which is primarily composed of everything west of 13th St to the City Limits and, District 2 which is everything east of 13th St to the city limits.
The command staff of the Operations Bureau excels at community outreach and takes pride in their ability to work with various community organizations to assist in providing quality service and looks forward to expanding their partnerships to include all of our neighbors.
