The Records Section is responsible for compiling, maintaining and disseminating information from department records regarding incident and traffic crash reports. The Records Section is responsible for providing crime statistics to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for the Uniformed Crime Report. Citizens can make public records requests for incident/traffic crash reports, background checks, and crime statistics.



(1)  GPD P2C: This link gives you access to limited information involving some incident and arrest reports.

(2)  CityProtect: On this site, you can access crime data on a map. Click on the magnifier to begin your search and then enter the property address. Then click on Incidents, so you can use the filter option to change the date range. After selecting confirm, click see results. Select any item on the map to determine the offense type and general location of the crime committed.

(3)  Open Data ( This link provides access to the City of Gainesville’s Open Data Portal that contains statistical information pertaining to encounters involving GPD.
